Thank you donators
Filed in: Wordpress Add comments
I would like to take a few moments to thank the people who donated money via PayPal. I’ve invested a lot of time in kPicasa Gallery and it’s a good feeling when people show their appreciation, whether by leaving comments, rating it on the WordPress plugin page or donating money.
For those who are curious, I used that money to:
- Buy an iPhone armband that I use for jogging
- Buy a subscription to MetaFilter
- Donate a few dollars to Jeffrey Friedl, for his Export to Picasa plugin for Adobe Lightroom
- Buy a 52mm-58mm step-up ring adapter so I can install my circular polarized filter on my 50mm f/1.8 lens

I’d like to contribute too but not sure you’re the kPicasa Gallery plugin author, as no site/domain email matching this site is available in plugin or its readme. Can only do so much to track you down 😉 please advise…

Good observation, there used to be a link on the WordPress plugin page to this website. I’ll try to make things clearer in the next release.
If you go on the WordPress plugins page, you can download the plugin and open the kpicasa_gallery.php file. You’ll see that:
1) on line 4, it refers to http://www.boloxe.com/techblog/. This is the address of this website.
2) on line 78, my email is displayed and it matches my PayPal account when you click on the Donate link on this website.
I hope this is enough to convince you I’m the author of kPicasa 😉

Cool. Thanks for being so transparent with what you purchased with the donated money. It’s really cool that you shared that info. And thanks for a great plugin.

Great gallery plugin. Is there a way to make the slideshow pop open in a new window? The slideshow opens to google which makes it possible for visitors to become confused on how to get back to the site.
Any help would be great. Also how can I donate?

Hey,
I am a big fan of this plugin. I used to support a zenphoto/wordpress integration, but it was not nearly as slick as this plugin.
Do you need any help with the development of the plugin? I would really like it if support for new versions of wordpress was tested, and if this caught on a bit more. I’m planning on deploying it on a new site I’m working on now, which will hopefully use the newest version of wordpress.
Thanks for the great work.

Hello friend, I use this wonderful plugin that you created. Congratulations, because it is very useful. But today, when I click for larger photo and thumbnail she continues. I notice that on your site the same problem occurs. Can you help?

@Michael it seems that Google changed something in the XML file that kPicasa reads. I will have a look at it shortly.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed but the picasa plugin for wordpress you created (which is awesome) is no longer pulling in the full sized images, just thumbnails?
Is that something you can fix and release an upgrade for the plugin?

@Michael @Soctt Google has fixed the problem before I had time to work on a temporary fix. Everything should be back to normal.

Hello just wanted to give you a brief heads up and let you know a few of the images aren’t loading properly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue. I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same outcome.
