About

I love everything that revolves around computers and electronics. I’ve owned computers since I was 10 years old, my first computer was a 286. I didn’t start to program until I was about 15 or 16, but still ended up studying Computer Science. I now code in PHP for a living, and I was really proud when I got my job that it was something I had learned on my own. I love it but I’m not as great as I would like to be. I love coding and there are so many great concepts and languages I’d like to learn, that I often find myself struggling to focus on one thing for a while and get good at it. Currently, C# really interests me, and I’m trying to get my head around the MVC pattern in PHP.

It amazes me how much time I had on my hands to learn and experiment with all kind of stuff when I was in still school. Not that I’m the busiest person in the world, but it seems that now that I’m working, I don’t have enough time for this anymore. It freaks me out.

I’ve used Windows since 1997, but last year I decided to try Ubuntu. I’m proud to say I’m 100% Microsoft free! Ubuntu is still not perfect and not for total newbies either, but I still love it. I might get a Mac for my next computer though. They’re a bit more expensive, but they give me the feeling that they’re not going to die in three years like many other brands. Anyway one of my boss is constantly trying to corrupt and brainwash me with Apple stuff. After Mac OS X Leopard came out, he put his Macbook Pro on my desk, looked at me with a big grin, said “have fun” and turned around. I don’t need one… but I want one!!!

I have another blog, which is for my non-tech friends, and focuses on my real life. This blog is about my “online” life. It is my personnal space to vent out all the thoughts and ideas bouncing against each other up there in my head.
